I love fashion and I want to learn how to make clothes, sew and everything. I don’t know what brand sewing machine to buy and what kind because i’m a beginner and well i’ve never used a sewing machine. I also want to keep a budget of $130. What sewing machine is best for a beginner like me? I want to sew and do embroidery as well.

I have a cut-out picture from a bridal magazine of a wedding dress that is perfect, but for some reason, the details are missing. I really want this dress, but I would like to try it on before committing.
It has an a-line floor-length skirt, and the bodice is like a long-sleeved jacket. The cuffs are turned up and the front doesn’t close entirely so there’s a gap from one button to the next. There’s a normal sort of collar as well. There’s very little no embroidery on the dress at all. If you know of a website that it might be on, that’d be really great.

I have, and it’s actually fun to freestyle things. I could never do counted cross-stitch, and the plastic canvas is so bulky. This is just right for needle and double-strand embroidery thread.

I need to get a good robe for my husband. I’ve tried all sorts of stores online and I can’t seem to find anything that’s red besides Asian Komonos with dragons all over them. I need to get it before Christmas so I can suprise him. He doesn’t know I’m doing this because he’s overseas so it’s important that I find it soon. He’s about 6’2″ with a built frame but wants it to be huge. I’ve tried some stores online in a search engine, but all that came up were robes that weren’t red or weren’t terry, or were all white. If there’s a place that does embroidery that would be great, too. I don’t want a komono robe. I want a regular red robe, not burgundy, not deep red….just red.

I used to have these little printed cardboards with holes in them. Almost like a dot-to-dot, but you would use shoelaces to make the pictures form. It was something I had in the 80′s when I was a kid and it helped me get into embroidery. Does that sound familiar to anyone?

To make heat transfers, you use a transfer pen. It is available in the section of the craft store where they sell the thread. It is usually white. It is readily available.

What is this? Is it difficult? Can this be done w/o any embroidery experience? Im looking for a hobby, don’t want to knit, crochet, or guilt. Dont like punch rugs either. I saw an ad for this and was interested. Anyone do it? Thanks
