Will Additional Washings Remove The “glow In The Dark” Aspect Of Treating A Stain With Liquid Detergent?
Over the weekend I accompanied my sons to play Glow-In-The-Dark put-put golf. I was pleased how the embroidery on my top was highlighted, but less pleasantly surprised when a coffee stain I treated on my slacks was highlighted with a clear outline where I had poured the liquid detergent.
I understand that the liquids have ingredients intended to “brighten” materials by picking up subtle ultraviolet light and “glowing” in normal light. However, I was annoyed when so much was left in the fabric.
Will additional washings remove the “glowing” remnants? Thanks.
It gave me a great idea for secret messages should I need to send them in the future…that ordinary white Tee could become spy-wear, literally!

How annoying! But the idea of secret messages is right up my spy-aficionado alley..
I would guess that repeated washings might work, unless there has been some sort of bleaching effect. Maybe an email to the manufacturer?
